Privacy policy
BucketShare is built to keep your household's finances private. There's no account, no login, no advertising and no analytics. We never see, sell or share your household's data. The only information that leaves your device for anyone other than you is what's needed to confirm a purchase, described below.
What the app stores
Everything you enter (people, accounts, plans, transactions, buckets, investments, property, loans and notes) is stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, the app keeps a copy in your own private iCloud database so your devices stay in sync. That database belongs to your Apple Account; we can't read it.
What leaves your device
- iCloud sync. Your data goes only to your own private iCloud database, as described above. You can turn iCloud off for the app in iOS Settings.
- Presets. The app downloads public lists of common bills, account names and tax tables from GitHub Pages (github.io). The request contains no personal data; GitHub may keep standard server logs such as your IP address.
- Purchases. BucketShare Pro is bought through Apple. When the app opens, and when you buy or restore Pro, it checks your Pro status with RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your App Store purchase receipt (your purchase history with BucketShare) and basic technical details such as your device model, iOS and app version, App Store country and IP address. It doesn't receive your name, email or any financial data you enter, and none of it is used for tracking or advertising. RevenueCat uses this data only to confirm purchases for BucketShare and must protect it at least as well as this policy does.
What stays on your device
Face ID or passcode checks are handled by iOS; the app never sees your biometric data. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Widgets read a summary file the app writes on your device. Backups and CSV exports are files you create and choose where to save.
Children
The app doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Settings → Data → Backup and import → Erase all data removes everything from the app, and from your iCloud copy when sync is on. Deleting the app removes the local copy; the iCloud copy can also be removed in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
RevenueCat keeps its purchase records for as long as they're needed to confirm your purchases. To have them deleted, copy the Purchase ID from Settings → Pro in the app, delete the app, and email the ID to shapingedge.apps@gmail.com. We'll delete the records within 30 days. Anything you've bought can still be restored later with Restore purchases.
