Effective 13 July 2026
Acclimb turns your real movement into an expedition up the world's great peaks. It is a gentle wellness companion — not a medical device. Your privacy is a core part of the design: your health data stays on your device and is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.
With your explicit permission, Acclimb reads the following activity types to move you up the mountain:
Access is read-only. You grant each type individually in the Health permission screen, and you can change or revoke access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Acclimb. If you decline, Acclimb still works — it simply treats those days as rest days, which are celebrated, never penalized.
Your raw Apple Health samples are read on your device, used to compute your progress, and are never stored off your device. We do not operate a server, and we never transmit your health data to us or to anyone else.
Only derived app state — your position on the route, milestones reached, and similar progress information — is saved on your device and synced through Apple's iCloud private database, which is tied to your Apple ID and accessible only to you. We cannot see it. This sync is what lets your expedition continue seamlessly across your iPhone and other devices signed into the same iCloud account.
If you opt in, Acclimb sends gentle local notifications — a daily reminder, milestone celebrations, and optional progress updates. These are generated on your device. You can turn any of them on or off in the app's Settings, or in the system Settings for Acclimb.
Game Center is off by default. If you turn it on, Acclimb submits only your highest altitude reached (a single number, in metres) to a Game Center leaderboard so you can compare it with other climbers. It never shares your health data, workouts, or any other personal information. You can turn it off at any time.
Future add-on content packs may be offered as one-time in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Acclimb does not receive or store your payment details.
Acclimb is a wellness and motivation companion. The figures it shows mirror your movement; they do not diagnose, score, interpret, or advise, and they are not a substitute for professional medical guidance.
Acclimb is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
